The Five People You Meet in Heaven

I found this book at Kinokuniya. A paperback edition of Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven. So, i buy it after i read the synopsis. A pill for sicked soul, that's what people say about this book. I give it a try then.

I remember first reading this book during my journey commuting from Taman Melati to UPM Serdang. I hate doing nothing while commute in long hours journey so i think reading this book might help me killed some time.

From one page to another, the story develop well. It had its shocking moment, a rude awakening of the main character and lots of life issue. Indeed, i have to agree that this piece of fiction really a pill for sicked soul. For people who searching reason to keep on living should read this fiction.

The story going around an imminent death of a maintenance worker name Eddie. Eddie work at Ruby Pier, a pier by the ocean, serving amusement park attraction to its visitor. Eddie was Vietnam veteran and he's a limp, memory of war. Eddie died when he trying to save a girl from a falling cart and after his last breath, Eddie's soul went up to Heaven. Heaven in this fiction given something beside Garden of Eden. It's an evaluation interview with 5 people whom touch your life in a way you never imagine. Some of them might be your love one, some of them just mere stranger yet everyone of them have a story of your life to be told. Eddie journey through Heaven indeed started with disgruntled but end in peace. By end of the journey, Heaven is just very near yet the most underrated things in our life; Home.

My opinion:
I truly touched by this story. It's help me re-evaluate my life, counting my blessing and appreciate for what i have achieved previously. Sometimes for things which not a matter to us means a world to someone else. Yurp, the heaven description might take a fight with your religious view of Heaven but i think the content of moral that really count. This piece of fiction soothe me, make me laughing and crying and hoping for something. The feeling might be superficial but i feel something worthy anyway.

Now, i dig Mitch Albom's other book title "For One More Day". I hope it gives great feeling as previous book does. I sense that i watch too many JDorama and this book help me tweaking my mind into different view. Anyway, enjoy your life~!

Quickie~!

Hoho. lama benor aku menghilang dan banyak benor yang terjadi. Okies, here's quickie about what happened to me selama menghilangkan diri ni.

Start of August, aku diassignkan utk lead task force untuk menceriakan my floor. macam AJK keceriaan kelas la. Lalu busy lah sepanjang 3 minggu dengan brainstorming dan presentation pasal keceriaan floor tu. memang sangat meletihkan dan mengganggu sebab waktu tu ada few deliverable kena hantar. memang tak menang tangan la nak meng-handle semua sekali. few deliverables tu pulak kena ambil masa nak belek dokumen satu per satu, nak refer kat sana, nak refer kat sini, agak-agak tak sabar boleh meletup. so, adakah aku dah meletup? Almost. tapi more like kepala aku yang nak meletup. tensen-tensen.

so, balik rumah mendownload jer la kerja aku. Few doramas yang telah habis didownload/ditonton/tengah download/baru separuh tengok adalah:

1) Hanazakari No Kimitachi e ~Ikemen Paradise~ - 12 episodes (currently episode 10)
-> high school dorama yang famous. Dikenali juga dengan nama "HanaKimi". Based on manga. agak la bodoh dorama ni tapi kelakar.

2) Liar Game - 11 episodes (finished)
-> physco thriller. Damn twisted if you ask me tapi malangnya sangatlah predictable ending. Toda Erika bawak watak comel, inesen dan baik hati seperti watak2 biasa dia. Quite best cumanya ending dia agak spoil.

3) Hotaru No Hikari - 10 episodes (currently episode 9)
-> spesis perempuan yang diluar rumah sangatlah comel dan bergaya tapi bila dirumah, sangatlah serabai. a homely type yang lebih suka lepak2 dirumah dari mencari cinta. Ayase Haruka sangat cute gitu. Btw, she's gravure idol. hoho.

4) Yama Onna, Kabe Onna - 12 episodes (currently episode 10)
-> satu lagi dorama yang lawak. Bercerita pasal women breast and self esteem. Sangat lawak sebab ini satu dorama yang kita boleh tengok persepsi wanita terhadap envy and self esteem. Small, brutal comment really can put them down. Really a fresh view on women's world. Koike Eiko is a gravure idol and her boobs damn delicious. nyum3.

5) Juken No Kamisama - 12 episodes (currently episode 8)
-> pasal God of Exam yang menolong student2 dia melepasi junior high school admission exam. Some people say it's a combination of Dragon Zakura and My Boss, My Hero. Menarik jugak la cuma subtitle nye sangatlah slow. Kena menunggu lama. Sangat menarik sebab dorama ini memperlihatkan dunia main role yang lain dari rata-rata student jepun yang rajin study.

6) Yamada Taro Monogatari - 10 episodes (currently episode 9)
-> a manga adaptation dorama. Best jugak since banyak andaian-andaian pelik yang wujud sepanjang cerita ni. Family-meet-high-school dorama. Kelakar dan kadang-kadang boleh sampai tahap tak logik.

Misc item:
-> telah bercuti selama 3 hari sewaktu minggu merdeka. Menyambut merdeka dengan family di Kuantan.
-> beli harddisk baru 320 GB. godek-godek PC yang makin uzur, cuba selamatkan PC itu. Beli LCD monitor 19 inch. Best nye monitor besau. hehehe.
-> beli lappy Acer Aspire 4710 untuk adik saya. Adik saya masuk UPM, baru first year. Alhamdullillah, ada jugak sedara mara kat KL ni. Ada lah jugak orang nak tolong tengok-tengokkan aku yang semakin down ni.
-> Pasang Astro kat rumah, boleh layan sport sampai pagi. Boleh tengok liverpool match dan RWC sampai muntah.
-> DVD Writer buat hal. Dah busted gamaknya. Kena lah beli burner baru. Bulan depan la kot, bulan ni dah cukup-cukup cecah limit budget.

Akhir kata, selamat berpuasa kepada semua. Adakah anda sudah membeli tiket balik raya? Jika tidak, sila dapatkan di kaunter tiket terdekat. karang ada yang tak dapat balik raya. :)
