As a developing nation, Malaysia is a country whereby lots of urban people taking public transportation to work. People who hate to hassle in jammed traffic on the road choose train instead of bus or cab. Not to mention, boarding train is fast and accurate, easier for you to plan your time to board them and arrive at office in exact time without any problem (while we put aside that LRT nowadays always "Under maintenance"). SO, this great invention called train makes people's life easier in such a great way. As a frequent boarder, i been bothered to write a guide for newbies who wish to use public transport especially train or LRT. Here's few things newbies should know when boarding train or LRT:
1) Quickly boarding in OR out
Life is much easier for people who been queuing the whole morning if you could walk faster into/out from LRT. People really easily get irritated when you walk slowly into/out from LRT just like when pergi makan angin. If you want to cruise around slowly, please do it at any isolated island, zoo, along the beach line but please don't do it in the morning when people hassling/battling to get into LRT to get to work. You might be a good punching target then. So people, walk quickly and think quickly. And yeah, people don't give a damn if you trying to kontrol lawa or kontrol macho cause it's doesn't matter when you get on their nerves.
2) Stay at left side if you willing "menghirup udara segar"
If you still in vacation mode, please do your "menghirup udara segar" on left side of escalator. It's totally get on my nerves when i try to walk fast but there are some idiots who stand still on right side of escelator. I'm so pissed off especially when i'm late in the morning. It's not like no sign saying that you need to be on the right side to give way to people want to go down quickly but they seems ignoring the fact.
3) Behave yourself
Attention to all lovey dovey birds, we're totally not interested your kissing, belai-ing, gesel-ing and what not. We can watch porn for GOD sake or better get some woman and fucked her hard at more private place. If you are so horny and use excuse like "i want to show to the whole world that i love her" to bermesra-mesra, please nominate yourself into porn film industry. Besides making money, you show that you love her to the whole world, right? Please people, we're not interested in your lovey dovey act and what pissed me of always is THEY TAKING LOTS OF SPACE for that. Dumbass!
4) Control your voice
Whether you're a super cute guy/gal, i will get annoyed actually by your laugh if it keeps coming over and over again. I know that you're crazy for attention but please respect others. You high pitch voice will eventually interrupt other stressed out passenger. Keep it down and keep it low.
Tips:
1) Get an mp3 player. It could get rid lots of unnecessary noise from your ears and head.
2) Stop making it such a big fuss when people pushing you. Everybody do that. If you're not comfortable with people pushing you around, get a car or cab.
Other than that, cheer up and enjoy riding in it.

hmmmmm... a very nice guide.. and ur right it does feel awkward to write/read it. you know since no one is actually new to LRT. haha but nevertheless, ppl do need a kind reminder forom time to time. ;)
i share your sentiment about ppl taking their own sweet time riding up the escalator. LOLZZZ when im trying to be quick at shopping. irritating, irritating! it comes to worse when they are actually old ppl when obviously i feel bad enough to even say "excuse me". if they are a couple whose actualy WANNA be together holding hands not caring ppl are rushing - REALLY irritating.
hmm sorry but the pushing part is just plain rude to me. errr... maybe becoz i dont push ppl? =p
erm.. i am lucky because half of my journey every morning is by using STAR LRT. not very "sendat" if compared with PUTRA LRT.
But, nonetheless.. everyday i only managed to fit my not-very-small-self into the last few inch area near the LRT door.
And then.. a friend at a more convenient place at the back start singing "Cicakman...Cicakman..."
Owh..demmit..
people might make the argument if in shopping complex or other places, its exactly not appropriate to be offended when people are taking spaces at the escalators, since those are places of leisure and such. There are also no sign indicating that you should move to the left. I used to feel this way ( being irritated at really slow walker in shopping complex escalators, but I was put in my place and was reminded of a thing called lifts. And after a moment of reflection, I guess they are right and I am a bit ashamed of my behaviour in not being considerate of people wanting to be leisurely at such places as this)
but, it is rude when it is during morning rush hour and at public transportation places.. (LRT, bus stations places, airports)
getting in and out quickly ok. But if there's someone that bump against me quite hard, or step on my toes until I said "Ouch" and not apologize , I would make a bit of a stink about it (and in my experience, when I don't make a big stinks about it, there are other passengers who will loudly comments on how inconsiderate that person are). There are such things as a good common sense of courtesy.
i luv this posting. apa2 yg ko ckp tu aku sgt2 setuju. kalau dah tau pagi tu org bekejar2 nk gi kerja ke ape2, tak yah lah terhegeh2 nak berlenggang. jln kaki lg bagus. muahaha. aku plak nak tambah cerite ngn my experience naik public transport a.k.a transit. aku gi kerja 2 modes of transport train n bus (as you know rapid KL la kan, that not so rapid, hahahaha). ada 3 kategori bas [T - Tempatan, U - Utama, B - Bandar].ntah la, sape2 yang pernah pakai bas dr wangsa maju mesti pernah hangin nk tunggu bas keluar dr stesen. aku sgt2 tak setuju ngn cara derang susun letak bas ni. bayangkan, bas kat belakang dah penuh penumpang(agak nye patut dah bertolak, since jam dah tepat waktu nk bertolak) but, bas kat depan, pintu tak bukak lg, org dah berpusu2 susun kat pintu. driver leh lepak2 lg kat ofis derang. patut, dah nampak penumpang ramai2 tu, angkut je la. aku rasa mcm time2 tu jugak nak jd driver, rempuh bonggol kat tepi bas(since rendah je). tu la selalu terjadi setiap hari, bas belakang kena tunggu bas yang didepan n sikap driver ni yang suke tul nk tangguh2, pekerja ramai, leh shift je kan. mane tak nye, nak sampai kat rumah aku tak pernah nak on time. selalu terawal n terlewat. aku rasa ni apply kat bas yang jatuh dlm kategori T je kot. satu lg yg aku hangin ngn bas ni(utk T305) pernah sekali kat stesen wangsa maju, ada 2 bas yang bernombor sama. dtg dlm masa yang sama. ntah la, nak ckp jam time tu, tempat aku jarang nak jam time pkl 8++ mcm tu. tu la selalu pagi2 aku tunggu bas pkl 6.45am, tu paling awal. kalau terlepas, kena tunggu lg hampir sejam. -_-" .thank god, bas dlm KL (B) ok n selalu on time. since aku kena pergi ke technip dr klcc ...one more time, gune bas lagi. ni la pengalaman aku duduk baru sebulan lebih kat KL.
i once saw a gay partner doing their thing in front of me in the lrt. it was TOTALLY disgusting. go get a room la kan? grrr.
to skip the hassle after work, i usually go back late. malas mahu berebut-rebut kikikiki.
ah. i miss riding lrt everyday.
This is such a great guide :) Thanx Dueng ....
Well, I have something to share about pedestrian safety ... You should not use your earphone/headphone while walking down the streets because you might put yourself into danger of street crimes or traffic accidents, because you couldn't hear anything if the danger comes from behind you (you could always hear something unusual as a warning). But you could always use your earphone/headphone if you are sitting in the train or bus (just to get rid of the annoying sound of rubbish talkers, or to sink inside our own world :P).
p/s: Another community message from National Road Safety Department :P
give or take 3more years and i think this utopian dream will come. sooner or later we will tow the line. you see if wearing like a dumb emo... being a poser and other shitty import can be imported why can't these positive things too eh?
selamat bekerja!
Totally agree with you Dueng. Couples who can't keep their hands off each other (mind you, more often than not the girl is covered ie. bertudung). The kind that hold hands and everything else while they amble along slowly whispering sweet nothings to each other and blocking the way. Geez.
Thank god my Effs is not into PDA. And neither am I. Phew!
And for those who get MP3 players, please get earphones too. They come in a set, ykno? No one wants to hear your stupid collection of rock kapak or sappy love songs.
Really.
